Let your creativity soar at the Philadelphia Museum of Art! Explore a wide range of interactive programs designed for families with children ages 3–12. From large scale Special Family Events to intimate gallery tours, families can discover the world of art together.



Art Splash, presented by PNC Arts Alive

This summer Art Splash is bringing a little piece of the big city inside for kids and their grown-ups. Enjoy the shapes and colors, sights and sounds of the exhibition Modern Times and play in our own mini metropolis. Museum admission for kids twelve and under is always free.

Baby Bird Playdate

Sensory-Friendly Mornings
Great Stair Hall Balcony, 2nd floor

These mornings are specially designed for children on the autism spectrum or who have other sensory sensitivities. The lights, volume, and crowds are turned down but not the fun or creativity.

Family Festivals

Family Festivals showcase local and nationally recognized performance groups for an experience that combines the magic of the visual and performing arts. The Balcony Studio features art projects inspired by artwork in the Museum's collections.

Children’s Art Classes

Young artists get to know the Museum inside and out during these award-winning classes. No experience is necessary, and all materials are supplied. $160 ($130 members)

Fall classes begin Tuesday, September 25; online registration begins July 30, 2018. You can also register by calling 215-235-7469. Tuition assistance available upon request. A nonrefundable service charge for each space reserved is added to phone orders ($3.50; $2.50 member).

Weekday Classes for Ages 3–5
Tuesdays, September 25–December 4, 1:00–2:30 p.m.
Wednesdays, September 26–December 5, 1:00–2:30 p.m.
Thursdays, September 27–December 6, 1:00–2:30 p.m.
No classes the week of Thanksgiving.

Saturday Classes for Ages 3–12
September 29–December 8. No classes the week of Thanksgiving.
Ages 3–4, 10:30 a.m.–noon; or 1:00–2:30 p.m.
Ages 5–6, 10:30 a.m.–noon; or 1:00–2:30 p.m.
Ages 7–8, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; or 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Ages 9–12, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; or 1:00–3:00 p.m.
